About Your Trainer

Hi, I’m Nikki Allen. I’m a former journalist, communications trainer, published author and qualified therapist.

For more than 15 years I’ve worked with organisations to help their people communicate clearly and effectively, including as Head of Training at global language consultancy The Writer, where I led and designed corporate training programmes for some of the biggest businesses in the world.

Alongside my training work, I’m also a published author with Pan Macmillan, writing thrillers (including Apple Books bestseller The Hideaway) for one of the world’s biggest publishing houses. My writing on communication and boundaries has also been featured in The Guardian and Radio New Zealand. I’ve now trained 20,000+ professionals worldwide in groups of two to 200 with consistent 5* feedback.

What makes my communications and business writing training different?
Most training focuses only on ‘techniques’. My approach uses:

  • Leaders, managers and teams who want to learn how to write clearly, effectively and with confidence.

  • Yes. I can customise every workshop to your organisation’s needs, ideally using examples of your writing. And we can focus either more broadly on communications skills, or zoom. inon specific areas like writing or presenting. But if you’d like to discuss a lower cost, non-tailored option, we can do that too.

  • Yes, very. I believe people learn best by doing, and trying things out. Participants practise these skills in a supportive environment, and they’ll have an interactive toolkit to take away afterwards.

  • Yes. Both virtual and in-person sessions are available.

  • For an in-person workshop, I can run the session for anything up to 12 people. Online, we can go up to 25.

  • My rates start from £695.00 for a 60-minute virtual workshop. A full-day, bespoke session run for a team of up to 12 people is £2,295.00, including an upfront consultation and all takeway/supporting materials.

  • It depends on my availability, but I can usually fit a new project in within 2-4 weeks, sometimes sooner. Just get in touch and I’ll let you know!
